Swami Shivanand Sabhagrah

Located at basement of universal temple this hall it named after Swami Shivananda, also called Mahapurush Maharaj. 

It is said that " While he was returning to Belur from his southern India pilgrimage, Swami Shivananda had vision of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna in jungles near Nagpur, . After reaching back to Belur he directed Swami Bhaskarananda to go and  setup center in Nagpur, saying Jungle mai Mangal hoga".  

With his blessings and leadership of Swami Bhaskarananda Nagpur center made rapid progress and became translation and publication center for Marathi and Hindi literature for the order. Swami Bhaumananda (Mothe Maharaj) (1st president of Pune Math) assisted Swami Bhaskarananda at Nagpur during this time.  

Our beloved Mothe Mj paid is homage to Swami Shivananda by dedicating this hall to him, this hall since then became the focal point of spiritual retreat, shibir, satsang and many other enriching gatherings.

Equipped with powerful video audio system, this hall has a sitting capacity of 400 people which can be extended by another 200 by adding chairs to waiting area at its entrance.
